Old Boulder Bridge
Sweet Grass County is applying for a Treasure State Endowment Program (TSEP) grant to replace the Old Boulder Bridge located just outside the Big Timber City Limits. The existing structure is a three-span, 145-foot long steel pony truss and timber bridge constructed in 1940. The bridge is currently in fair structural condition, narrow, has a restricted load capacity and is at the end of it’s useful life. There will be a public hearing for the Old Boulder Bridge Environmental Assessment on May 2nd at 6:30 pm in the County Annex Conference Room. At the public hearing the proposed project will be explained, including the purpose and proposed area of the project, activities, budget, possible sources of funding, any costs that may result for local citizens as a result of the project, and a decision will be made on the environmental assessment. All interested persons will be given the opportunity to ask questions and express opinions regarding the proposed project and any environmental impacts. If you have any questions please contact the Planning Office at 406-932-5470. More information regarding the TSEP grant proposal will be posted soon.
