IMPORTANT NOTICE: June 14, 2022 Sweet Grass authorities have closed the following roads in Sweet Grass County due to flooding. The Yellowstone river is flooding and expected to rise more today. The following roads are closed until further notice. North Yellowstone Trail, the Fairgrounds Road, and the Lower Sweet Grass road. Also be advised that the Montana department of transportation has closed highway 191 between Big Timber Montana and Harlowton until further notice. For information about the road closures and flood waters, please check the websites and the county web site. Please do not call the dispatch center for information. Call 9-1-1 if you have an emergency. Do not drive through water running over the roadway.

Sweet Grass County has sandbags available at for purchase for $.50 apiece. The bags can be picked up and filled at either Roe Construction’s gravel pit east of Big Timber on Big Timber Loop Road or behind the Sweet Grass County Courthouse for anyone who needs them.

The Main Boulder Road remains closed from Graham Creek south until further notice.
